The Rise of the Global Youth Climate Movement
YOUTH UNSTOPPABLE takes us inside the rise of the Global Youth Climate Movement. Slater Jewell-Kemker was 15 when she began documenting the untold stories of youth on the front lines of climate change refusing to let their futures slip away. Over the course of 12 years and set against stunning visuals of a planet in crisis, YOUTH UNSTOPPABLE follows the evolution of a diverse network of youth rising up to shape the world they will live in.
After screening at over 100 film festivals and events around the world, YOUTH UNSTOPPABLE HAD it’s global premiere during UN Climate Week in New York City on September 23rd.

Introducing Slater
Slater Jewell-Kemker has been making films since she was six. An award winning filmmaker and climate activist, Slater has been featured in Forbes twice and selected by the Hollywood Reporter as one of 15 filmmakers under 30 to watch.
Slater is an accomplished speaker and is frequently invited to speak on film and climate change panels to represent the voice of youth. She lives in a tiny house on wheels on her farm in Southern Ontario, Canada.
“It’s up to young people to get the word out that the climate crisis is one of the most severe problems of our time and we have to tell the story of how we’re going to fix this Earth, and how we’re going to change man’s relationship to it.
It’s up to young people to galvanize people around this issue and thanks to Slater we’re going to get this done.”
The Time is Now
Youth Unstoppable was the first to tell the story. We've been documenting the rise of the global youth movement for 12 years, from it's beginnings when the official UN process didn't want to include youth at the table.
Now we've updated it to show how youth have become the most powerful force in the international climate debate. We'll see how they are shaping politics in the form of the Green New Deal, presidential campaigns, and climate emergencies being declared in major cities worldwide. One key moment in the update will be Slater and Greta speaking together at COP24, the UN Climate Summit in Poland.
Youth Unstoppable shows the human side of the climate emergency, and how high the stakes are for the generation that didn't ask for the crisis but has become determined to solve it.
COVID 19 has shown that society is capable of reorganizing itself in the face of existential threats. Why can’t we apply those same efforts to solve climate change?
Upcoming Screenings
With the effects of COVID-19 felt around the world, Youth Unstoppable chose to postpone all screenings of our film for the well being of our activist community and the world at large. Recently, we’ve began screening at virtual film festivals again. Please follow our socials for updates.
Stay Well,
